Community Picnic and Presentation of the Community Center Model

On July 5th, the United Achenese of America gathered the Achenese community at the Gifford Pinchot Park. The gathering included the discussion of the future of plans for UAA and development of the UAA Community Center. The architechtural model, it's three dimensional virtual tour and projected plans of the Center were presented to the community. The presentation sparked many ideas for fundraising and for broadening services provided by UAA.

UAA Board Meeting, February 10th

The Board of Directors of the United Achenese of America gathered on Sunday, February 10th at Nationalities Service Center for a session of discussion of future plans of UAA. Also, two board members are going to attend the upcoming Annual ORR Grantee Workshop organized by project SOAR in Washington DC. They will later share the knowledge and skills gained at the conference with the rest of the Board members.

The Achenese Community Cultural Event Maulid was a great success and brought a lot of fun to the participating Achenese community. Big THANK YOU to the planning committee for a wonderful work done in putting the event together. The entertaining cultural performances, dazzling constumes, delicious foods, and pleasant atmosphere indeed demonstrated the beatiful Achenese culture to the guests.

The cameras with pictures taken by Achenese youth are being processed, and we will keep everyone updated on the UAA's photo project.
